Healthy Schools

Healthy Schools Award
In the summer of 2007 our school was awarded with Healthy Schools Status. The children have a good awareness of how to live a healthy life and enjoy taking an active role in maintaining this ethos within wider community.
Here are some of the things that we do in order to promote a healthy lifestyle in order to prepare children for a healthy life:
- offering a balanced, tasty hot school lunch
- providing playtime fruit or vegetables for all children in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1
- encouraging an active lifestyle through a variety of sports clubs and a whole school, themed 'Get Active' week
- 'Wake and Shake' on the playground before school begins for children, teachers and even some parents! Routines are organised and demonstrated by older children in the school
- following LEA guidelines for the provision of Sex Education, in close collaboration with the school nurse who teaches some of the sessions
Year 1 and 2 enjoy football coaching with an FA coach.
