At Keinton Mandeville Primary school, we believe that music is a universal language that can spark a child’s imagination and become a passion for a lifetime. We aim for our children to gain a firm understanding of what music is through listening, singing, playing, evaluating and composing. We love to sing! We endeavour to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians and so increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. The children should be exposed to music from a wide variety of historical periods, styles, traditions, and genres. We are committed to ensuring children understand the value and importance of music to their own and others’ lives and wellbeing and also the impact music has in the wider community. All children have access to music and are encouraged to participate fully. We aim to provide children with the opportunity to progress to the next level of their creative excellence.
